Failure to comply will result in premature fail- ure. 2.   Scrape remaining carbon deposits from piston ring grooves (5, 6, 7, and 8) with a scraper or broken piston ring. 3.   Remove remaining carbon from oil drain holes (14) in oil ring groove (8). Figure 8 14 5 6 7 8 WARNING 4.   Clean carbon from piston pins (13) with abrasive cloth dipped in dry--cleaning solvent. 5.   Scrape any remaining carbon from the end gaps of rings (1, 2, 3, and 4).
