To Adjust
Inspect Belt
1.
Remove belt guard.

Apply a 110 N (25 pound) force perpendicular to
the belt, midway between the driving and driven pulley.
Measure the belt deflection.
Proper belt deflection is 15 to 20 mm (.6 to .8 inch).
Adjust the belt tension as required.
Loosen locknut  on the belt tightener rod.

Turn adjustment nut until correct belt

Inspect the belts for wear. Replace belts if worn,
cracked or frayed.

Check the belt adjustment.

one belt.  The new belt will carry all of the load and
consequently, fail rapidly.

If  belts  do  not  require  replacement  or
adjustment, install the belt guard.  If belts require
adjustment or replacement, do not install the belt guard.
