Oil  pump  body  (1), Bushings   (7) adapter   housing   (5), and  idler  gear  (6) b. c. a. Using 0- to 1-inch micrometer, check outside   diameter. If  outside  diameter  is  less  than  0.873 inch  (22.17  mm),  continue  with  steps b  and  c.  If  outside  diameter  is  0.873 to 0.875 inch (22.17 to 22.22 mm), proceed  to  step  14. Using arbor press and mandrel, press idler shaft from oil pump body and discard. Using  arbor  press  and  deep  end  of  ST- 1157  spacer  mandrel,  press  stamped end of new idler shaft into oil pump body until  idler  shaft  protrudes  0.955  inch (24.26  mm)  above  oil  pump  body. Using 0- to 1-inch micrometer, check outside  diameter. If outside diameter is less than 0.873 Inch  (22.17  mm),  continue  with  steps b  and  c.  If  outside  diameter  Is  0.873 to 0.875 inch (22.17 to 22.22 mm), proceed  to  step  15. Using  arbor  press  and  mandrel,  press drive  shaft  from  drive  gear  (4)  and discard. Using  shallow  end  of  ST-1157  spacer mandrel,  press  drive  gear  (4)  onto new  drive  shaft  until  drive  shaft  protrudes from  drive  gear  1.035  to  1.055  inch (26.29  to  26.80  mm). Inspect for damage and, using dial bore gage,  check  inside  diameter. If damage exists, or if inside diameter is  greater  than  0.879  inch  (22.33 mm),  continue  with  steps  b,  c,  and d.  If  bushing  is  serviceable,  proceed to  step  16. 2-268
