Removal. Dry. (figure 4-24)
(1) Loosen coupling nut (1) securing breather line (2) to cylinder head (3).
(2) Loosen coupling nut (4) securing breather line (2) to air cleaner elbow (5) and remove breather line.
(3) Remove coupling nut (4) and rubber sleeve (6) from breather line (2).
(4) Remove adapter (7) from cylinder head (3).

Drycleaning solvent PD-680 used to clean parts is potentially dangerous to personnel and
property. Avoid repeated and prolonged skin contact. Do not use near open flame or
excessive heat. Flash point of solvent is 100°F-138°F (38°C-60°C).

Clean breather line and coupling nut with dry cleaning solvent.
Ensure there are no obstructions in line.
Inspect coupling nut for signs of stripped threads, or any other damage. Replace breather line if damage
is found.
Inspect rubber sleeve and replace if torn or otherwise damaged.
f. Installlation. Dry. (figure 4-24)
(1) Install coupling nut (4) and rubber sleeve (6) on breather line (2).
(2) Install adapter (7) in cylinder head (3).
(3) Position breather line (2) on cylinder head (3), and finger tighten coupling nut (1).
(4) Position breather line (2) on air cleaner elbow (5) and tighten coupling nut (4) and coupling nut (1).
