(7)  E/ectrica/   system.   The   engine   is   equipped   with   an   alternator   and   a   regulator-rectifier.   The   alternator produces   up   to   40   volts   (ac)   during   engine   operation.   The   regulator-rectifier   converts   the   output   of   the   alternator into   direct   current   (dc),   which   is   used   to   charge   the   end   item   battery.
