Removal b.  Inspection c.  Installation INITIAL  SETUP Tools Equipment   Condition General Mechanic’s Tool Kit (Item 1, Appendix B) Top  cover  removed  (para.  4-36). Materials/Parts Rags, Wiping (Item 7, Appendix D) Solvent,  Drycleaning  (Item  8,  Appendix  D) a. Removal. (figure 4-34) (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) Loosen eight clamps (1) and move as far down intake manifold adapters (2) as possible. Slide four hoses (3) as far up intake manifold (4) as possible. Remove screw (5) and washer (6) and remove intake manifold (4). Remove four hoses (3) from intake manifold (4). Remove eight clamps (1   from  intake  manifold  adapters  (2). b. Inspection.  (figure  4-34) WARNING Drycleaning  solvent  PD-680  used  to  clean  parts  is  potentially  dangerous  to  personnel  and property. Avoid repeated and prolonged skin contact. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat. Flash point of solvent is 100°F-138°F (38°C-60°C). (1) (2) (3) Clean  intake  manifold  with  drycleaning  solvent,  and  dry  thoroughly. inspect  intake  manifold  (4)  and  replace  if  cracked  or  otherwise  damaged. Inspect hoses (3) and replace if torn or otherwise damaged. c. Installation (figure 4-34). (1) (2) (3) (4) 4-70 Position eight clamps (1) on intake manifold adapters (2) as far down as possible. Install four hoses (3) on intake manifold (4) as far up as possible. Install intake manifold (4) and secure with screw (5) and washer (6). Position  four  hoses  (3)  on  intake  manifold  (4)  and  intake  manifold  adapters  (2)  and  secure  with  eight clamps  (1).
