Check  piston  and  piston  rings  for  wear. Replace worn or damaged piston and piston rings (para.5-22). 4.  ENGINE  RUNS  EXCESSIVELY  NOISY. Step 1. Check valve mechanism for bent or otherwise damaged components. Replace  worn  or  damaged  components  (para.5-7). Step 2. Check piston and connecting rod for wear. Replace  a  worn  piston  or  connecting  rod  (para.5-22). 5. ENGINE WILL NOT START OR RUNS ERRATICALLY MODEL 4A032-3, -4 NOTE The following procedures can be performed with either a digital or analog multimeter refer  to  figure  5-26  for  wiring  diagram  of  electronic  ignition  system. Step 1. Check low voltage and high tension cable ends for looseness. Tighten  any  loose  connections. 5-3
