NOTE

Next step is necessary to remove gear train backlash and provide more accurate

indicator readings for step (1).

(k) Rotate crankshaft counterclockwise past TDC to 45 degrees before TDC.

(1) Slowly rotate crankshaft clockwise to 19 degrees before TDC. Piston follower rod (10) will be almost in

contact with piston dial indicator stem (14).
