CAUTION
The fuel injection pump advance assembly can slide off
the gearshaft, destroying adjustments. Therefore, proper
adjustment of the fuel injection pump advance assembly
must be secured by lockwire, securing the unit to the
gearshaft, each time the unit is transferred from engine to
bench to test stand or vice versa.
30. Install lockwire (9) between spur bevel gearshaft (10) and spur gearshaft (11) to keep components from sliding off
gearshaft.
31. Remove bearing support (90), bearing cap (91), and bearing support (92) from injection pump advance assembly
(7).
32. Remove injection pump advance assembly (7) from test stand and remove oil retaining shaft (94).
