Installation -- Continued
2. Apply a thin coat of sealant on lower mounting surface of base (4).
3. Install base (4) over studs and onto crankcase (5).
4. Apply a small amount of lubricant to two studs (10), eight studs (11), and two screws (6).
5. Secure base (4) to crankcase (5) with ten flat washers (3), ten slotted plain nuts (2), two flat washers (7), and two
screws (6).
6. Tighten ten slotted nuts (2) and two cap screws (6) to 275--300 lb--in (31--34 NSm).
7. Secure ten slotted nuts (2) with ten new cotter pins (1).
