NOTE
It is not necessary to remove cylinder head to remove camshaft. If camshaft lobes show
excessive wear, then cylinder head should be removed so cam followers (2) can be removed for
inspection.

Remove fuel supply pump, refer to paragraph 3-25.1.
g.
Turn crankshaft until capscrews (1) can be removed through holes in gear (5).
h.
Remove two capscrews (1).
CAUTION
Do not allow camshaft lobes to drag on cylinder block honed bore surfaces while removing
camshaft.
