WARNING
Diesel fuel is flammable and toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Skin/eye protection required.
Avoid repeated/prolonged contact. Good general ventilation is normally adequate.
b.
Drain all fuel from system, including fuel transfer pump, fuel injection pump, and fuel filter into suitable container.
c.
Securely plug off end of fuel return line.
CAUTION
Maximum air pressure should be 15 psi (103 kPa) when performing this test.
d.
Using a low pressure air source, pressurize the fuel system at the fuel supply line.
e.
Apply liquid soap and water solution to all joints and connections in the fuel system and inspect for leaks.
NOTE
Connections may allow air to enter the system without allowing fuel to leak out.
f.
If any leaks are found, take necessary steps to repair.
g.
Reconnect supply and return lines and prime system.
h.
Start engine and run for approximately 10 minutes.
i.
Allow engine to sit for eight hours or overnight, then try starting engine.
