(2) Remove flywheel by pivoting flywheel through cutouts in the top and bottom of the flywheel
housing (Figure 4-55).

Replacement.
(1) Before removal, perform 4.8.1.a inspection of flywheel and ring gear while mounted to engine.
Replace flywheel if damaged. If only ring gear is damaged, repair per step d.
(2) For installation of flywheel, refer to step e.
