Replace starting motor (refer to paragraph 3.9.2). Test for defective starting motor (refer to paragraph 3.9.2). Notify next higher level of maintenance. Notify next higher level of maintenance. Perform end item troubleshooting procedures (refer to TM 9-6115-672-14 or other applicable TM). Engine fails to crank. Not OK   OK   STARTER OPERATES BUT ENGINE DOES NOT TURN OVER. Notify next higher level of maintenance. Remove starter (refer to paragraph 3.9.2) and check for worn or broken starter pinion gear. Repair or replace starter (refer to paragraph 3.9.2). Verify that engine is not seized. Starter operates but engine does not turn over. Notify next higher level of maintenance. OK
