Section Il. DESCRIPTION AND DATA
1-4. Description
This electrical starter is a heavy duty, 24-volt,
insulated, waterproof, fungus and corrosion
resistant, solenoid operated, enclosed shift -lever
type with eight brushes retained in four brush
holders. The drive assembly is a heavy duty,
overrunning type and the pinion clearance is
adjustable. The starter assembly consists of eight
major components, These are the brush rigging
assembly, shift housing assembly, shaft and lever
assembly,
pinion housing assembly, drive
assembly, armature assembly, and field ring
assembly.
