3-22.3. Installation.
a.
Install valve and spring in bore of engine block, refer to FIGURE 3-57.
b.
Install front plate and timing gear cover, refer to paragraphs 3-42.5. and 3-39.3.
CAUTION
Do not overtighten oil pan- to-timing gear cover capscrews.
c.
Install four bolts (4, FIGURE 3-52), two capscrews (3), and six new lockwashers (2) in front oil pan. Tighten oil
pan-to-timing cover capscrews to 27 ft-lbs (37 Nm). Tighten others to 35 ft-lbs (47 Nm).
