TASK 7. CONNECT WIRING HARNESS TO SOLENOIDS AND GROUND
COMMON TOOLS:
Extension, socket wrench, 1/2 inch square drive, 6 inch
Handle, socket wrench, 1/2 inch square drive
Socket, socket wrench, 1/2 inch square drive, 1/2 inch
Wrench, torque, 0-175 ft-lb
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE:
Wiring harness is pulled through center housing port; harness connector body is
installed. Refer to this paragraph, TASK 2.
Solenoids A through G are installed on lockup control valve and main control valve
assemblies Refer to paragraph 4-31.
Lockup control valve and main control valve assemblies are installed. Refer to this
paragraph, TASKS 5 and 6.
NOTE
l Connectors on solenoids and connectors on wiring harness look the same
except for color.
Connectors are mated by pushing them together with
connector loops over bayonets Connectors are locked in place when ends of
loops are down behind bayonets.
All solenoids are the same and they are interchangeable; for that reason,
solenoid connectors are not marked with solenoid identification. However,
each lead of the wiring harness must go to a specific solenoid location. Letter
stamped on wiring harness connector indicates location of solenoid to be
connected.
Locations of solenoids A through G are provided by art in this procedure.
