Equipment Conditions
Rocker arm cover assembly and support removed WP

CAUTION
The cylinder and rocker arm cover assembly are ma-
chined as an assembly. The number on the rocker arm
cover assembly must match with its mating number on
the cylinder to ensure camshaft bearing alignment and
running clearance. If rocker arm cover assembly is dam-
aged, the entire cylinder and rocker arm cover assembly
must be replaced.
NOTE
The engine has 12 rocker arm cover assemblies. The
following procedures will apply to one or all covers.
The rocker arm cover assembly contains both exhaust
and intake rocker arms. Both rocker arms are removed
and installed in the same manner. This procedure shows
the replacement of the exhaust rocker arm only.
