18. Position fuel metering pump coupling sleeves (19 and 20) as shown, making sure timing marks (34) remain in
alignment.
19. Apply a small amount of lubricant (item 12, WP 0100 00) to the threads of four bolts (23).
CAUTION
Ensure bolts are tightened sufficiently to preclude interfer-
ence with engine rotation.
20. Loosely install four bolts (23), four new lock washers (24), and four spacers (25) in sleeves (19 and 20).

21. Position two 5/16 drift punches (46) in sleeves’ (19 and 20) alignment holes. Hold coupling sleeve (19) stationary,
with timing marks (34) aligned, then rotate coupling sleeve (20) counterclockwise, as viewed from damper end of
engine, to remove backlash from pump drive shaft.
