TM 9--2815--247--34 0061 00--7 CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY REPAIR -- CONTINUED 0061 00 Inspection -- Continued 6.   Take cylinder bore (21) measurements at point A through E.  Measure diameter approximately parallel to line of valves. 7.   Take measurements 90 degrees to first measurement at point A through E. 8.   Average the measurements. 9.   If head end average measurements exceed flange end average measurements, replace cylinder. NOTE Cylinder bores may taper slightly at head end, at room temperature. The tapered section expands and is essen- tially straight at operating temperature. 10. Compare the measurements taken 90 degrees apart. Each two measurements must be within 0.003 inch (0.0762 mm) of each other. If the difference exceeds 0.003 inch (0.0762 mm), the cylinder is out--of--round and must be replaced. 11. Compare the measurements to limits in the following table. If cylinder is out of limits, replace cylinder.
