Inspection -- Continued
CAUTION
Main bearing sleeve halves should be installed in their
original location when they are to be reused. Use new
bearings when a visual inspection indicates bearings are
unserviceable. Use only new or serviceable bearings for
main bearing bore check.
3. Spread a thin coat of Prussian blue over steel backs of upper and lower main sleeve bearing halves (4, 5, 6, and
7).
4. Install bearings (5 and 7) in their original location in block (9). Install bearings (4 and 6) in bearing caps (10) and
thrust bearing cap (11).
