5. Check clearance between upper main thrust bearing flange (5) and No. 4 bearing seat in block (9) by measuring
with a feeler gauge. Replace bearings that do not measure within 0.004 to 0.008 inch (0.1016 -- 0.2032 mm), and
recheck.
