Removal -- Continued
4. Install three 5/16--24 X 3--inch bolts (8), for use as puller screws, into threaded holes provided in spur gear (6).
5. Alternately tighten bolts (8) to pull spur gear (6) from spur gearshaft (7).
WARNING
6. Cut and remove locking wire (9) and remove two slotted nuts (10) securing shouldered shaft (11).
7. Attach mechanical adapter (12) and slide hammer puller (13) to shouldered shaft (11).
8. Support spur gear (14) with a wooden block while using slide hammer puller (13) to remove shouldered shaft (11).
9. Remove preformed packing (15) from shouldered shaft (11). Discard preformed packing.
10. Remove three puller screws (8) from spur gear (6).
