Remove power piston (66, FIGURE 3-45) from its plug (65) by holding plug in one hand and rapping it sharply
into palm of other hand; piston will slide out. Remove piston ring (67), gasket (68), and, if necessary, preformed
packings (81 and 82) from piston (66).

Remove advance screw (69).

Remove slide washers (70).

Return pump and holding fixture as unit to its initial position in vise with rear of hydraulic head tilted slightly
downward.
NOTE
When hydraulic head assembly (17, FIGURE 3-52) is inverted, weight (18), sleeve (19), and thrust
washer (20) will fall out.

Remove remaining head locking bolt (51, FIGURE 3-45). Remove hydraulic head assembly (17, FIGURE 3-52)
by grasping with both hands and withdrawing it with a slight rotary motion.
NOTE
When hydraulic head assembly (17) is inverted, weights (18), sleeve (19), and thrust washer (20)
will fall out.

To disassemble governor, invert hydraulic head and let six weights (18), sleeve (19), and thrust washer (20) fall
into your hand. Remove preformed packing (21) from hydraulic head, refer to FIGURE 3-62.
