Measure camshaft bore diameter, refer to FIGURE 3-140. New diameter is 2.204 to 2.205 inches (55.98 to
56.01 mm). If diameter is more than specified, install a new engine block. New camshaft journal
clearance (camshaft bore ID minus camshaft journal OD is 0.003 to 0.005 inch (0.08 to 0.13 mm).
Maximum clearance is 0.006 inch to (0.15 mm).

Measure balancer shaft bushing bore diameters in engine block New bore diameter is 1.625 to 1.626
inches (41.26 to 41.29 mm). If diameter is more than specified, install oversize balancer shaft bushings.

Measure cylinder block top deck flatness using precision straightedge, refer to FIGURE 3-141. New
flatness is 0.003 inch (0.08 mm). If flatness is not as specified, resurface engine block
