a. Removal.
(1)
Drain engine lubrication system, refer to TM 9-6115-672-14.
CAUTION
Oil inlet line is fragile and can become twisted and damaged during
maintenance. Always use one wrench to hold one fitting stationary while
the other fitting is loosened or tightened. Failure to comply can cause
damage to equipment.

Disconnect turbocharger oil inlet line (3, Figure 4-36) at turbocharger.

Remove oil pan, refer to paragraph 4.5.3.

Loosen nut (1, Figure 5-86) several turns until nut covers end of shaft. Using two small pry bars,
apply force between front plate and gear (2) on two sides of gear. If gear does not loosen, loosen
capscrews (3, 6, and 10) and strike nut with a small lead hammer while applying force to gear
until gear loosens. Remove nut and gear. Discard nut.

Remove capscrews (3), pick-up tube assembly (4) and O-ring seal (5). Discard O-ring seal.
(6)
Remove capscrews (6), cover (7), outlet tube (8), and O-ring seals (9). Discard O-ring seals.
