Identifying numbers also appear on bearing web in block. The caps are not inter- changeable with each other and must be returned to their original positions during installation. Failure to comply will result in premature failure. 7.   Remove lockwire (5) and 28 slotted nuts (6). Discard lockwire. 8.   Remove 14 washers (7). 5 7 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 6 TYPICAL 7 PLACES Figure 2 9.   Install hand jack screw (8) in block midway between two main bearing caps (9) and tighten just enough to release pressure of block from ends of main bearing caps (9). 10.
