16. When end play exceeds 0.019 inch (0.4826 mm), remove bearing caps and crankshaft. Refer to Removal steps 9
through 22.
17. Install new main thrust bearing halves. Install bearing cap No. 4 and recheck thrust bearing bore. Refer to WP
0067 00.
18. Install bearing halves and crankshaft, and recheck end play to make sure it is within limits. Refer to Installation
steps 1 through 15.
19. Apply lubricant (item 12, WP 0100 00) to threads of 28 studs (45).
NOTE
Washers have a flat side and a rounded side. Install with
flat side against block.
20. Install 14 washers (7) and 28 slotted nuts (6) but do not tighten or install new lockwire at this time.
