Adjust
1. Make sure fuel metering pump is in phase with the valve timing. Refer to Test steps 4 through 7.
2. Rotate flywheel (8) counterclockwise, as viewed from the flywheel end, until “1R INJ PORT CLOSE” timing mark
(9) aligns with timing mark (10).
3. Check timing hole in fuel metering pump (6) making sure marked tooth (11) is visible.
CAUTION
If marked tooth is not visible, rotate flywheel counter-
clockwise 360°, as viewed from the rear, until “1R INJ
PORT CLOSE” aligns with timing mark and marked tooth
is visible in timing hole on injection pump.
