Compress both sides of throttle shaft (18) and shutoff shaft (30) and install a new shutoff cam (17) with straight
inner edge engaging slot, refer to FIGURE 3-86.

Install two insulating tubes (83, FIGURE 3-45) on solenoid terminals. Position solenoid (16) in cover (6) and
secure with two new insulator washers (15), one washer (14), one new lockwasher (13), insulator (84), terminal
(85), and two nuts (12).

Position washer (11), new lockwasher (10), and terminal strap (9) on solenoid studs. Secure with two self-locking
nuts (8).

Position new gasket (7) and cover (6) on housing and secure with two screws (3), new lockwashers (4), and
washers (5). Tighten screws 35 to 45 in-lbs (4 to 5 Nm). Install cup (88), screw (87), and cap (86).

If removed, install new preformed packing (2) and connector (1) in cover (6). Tighten connector 43 to 53 in-lbs
(5 to 6 Nm).

Using end cap socket (20548), tighten end cap (5, FIGURE 3-52) using appropriate end cap wrench 30 to 33 ft-
lbs (41 to 44 Nm), refer to FIGURE 3-87.

Install new seal (4, FIGURE 3-52), retaining plate (3), and locking screw (2) in head. Tighten screw 70 to 80 in-
lbs (8 to 9 Nm), refer to FIGURE 3-88.
