NOTE
Oversize thrust washers are available in sizes of 0.005 and 0.010 inch to compensate

for excessive end thrust.
(16) Using feeler gage, measure end thrust between thrust washer (29) and thrust shoulder (44)
on each camshaft assembly. Required clearance is 0.003 to 0.015 inch with new parts and a
maximum of 0.018 inch with used parts. If necessary, install an oversize thrust washer for
required end thrust clearance.
